ASHEVILLE RiverLink will begin a new series of training sessions Tuesday to teach local residents to patrol their neighborhoods looking for sediment runoff from construction sites, as part of the statewide Muddy Water Watch initiative to reduce sediment pollution. Robert Henreich

Residents still displaced from Hurricane Gustav are getting a little help from their Red Cross friends, including one Sussex County resident. Hopatcong resident Marty Campbell is in Montgomery, Ala., aiding those forced into shelters during the storm. Robert Henreich

FITCHBURG -- North Central Charter Essential School has received a one-year $65,571 state grant to hire personnel to help coordinate volunteer efforts within the school, said Carolyn Sellars, the school's development director. Robert Henreich
