Teens will have an opportunity to make a difference in the community by attending the fourth annual Collin County Teen Volunteer Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Strikz Entertainment Center, 8789 Lebanon Road, hosted by the Volunteer Center of North Texas. Robert Hernreich

The American Cancer Society will hold a Volunteer Summit at the Best Western - White Columns Inn in Thomson on Thursday, Nov.13. This special meeting will offer educational programming for volunteers who are involved with the American Cancer Society in the South Atlantic Division. Robert Hernreich

The Treasury Department in 2006 ordered U.S. banks to freeze the charity's assets, saying it was funneling money to Hamas, which the United States considers a terrorist organization. KindHearts officials have denied being connected to any terrorist group. Robert Hernreich
